Chemistry Undergraduates Win Silver Award at CCB Cup for Innovative Energy-Efficient Design

Lam Tsz Mei, a Year 4 chemistry undergraduate student, and her team have been awarded a Silver Award at the prestigious CCB Cup – the 16th National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving and Emission Reduction. The contest attracted over 50,000 participants representing 638 institutions from China and 391 international teams.

Tsz Mei's winning project, "A new building envelope system based on synergistic solar and phase change materials for temperature regulation," is a breakthrough in energy-efficient design. Their innovative system utilizes phase change materials, precast concrete walls with embedded pipes, and solar ventilation to actively control temperature, greatly reducing energy consumption.

This achievement demonstrates Tsz Mei and her team's exceptional expertise and underscores their commitment to creating a sustainable future.
