Poetic Microscope (25/4 – 19/5/2023)
Discovering beauty in an invisible world

“Poetic Microscope” was co-organised by LIVE, the Department of Biology and the Academy of Visual Arts. It is designed to provide students and visitors with a new perspective on biology through the integration of art and science. This was one of the biggest interactive exhibition held in the HKBU campus after the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project provides an interesting platform for the BIOL2017 Cell Biology students to open up their artistic minds with regard to their daily scientific work. Over 70 students participated in this project and they produced more than 300 amazing microscopic images of different tissues and cells. Together with the science students’ artistic interpretations, the exhibition invites viewers to re-discover the hidden beauty of the world in a microscopic way.
