Dr ZHOU Yuanyuan's invention conferred with HKBU Innovation Award 2023

Dr ZHOU Yuanyuan’s invention – “Next-Generation Semiconductors for Low-Carbon Energy and Urban Intelligence”, was conferred with the HKBU Innovation Award 2023 by the HKBU Knowledge Transfer Office. Congratulations to Dr ZHOU!

Dr ZHOU Yuanyuan, Assistant Professor of HKBU Department of Physics, is investigating a new type of semiconductors called perovskites, which can be solution-printed at near ambient temperatures, to tackle the massive need for semiconductors in the future world by innovating cheaper and better alternatives.

The HKBU Innovation Award is awarded to an innovation resulted from the research outcome of Faculty/School at Hong Kong Baptist University, wherein said innovation is judged to be possessing the utmost innovative value in service to the community along the criteria of:
- Provide leadership contributions in key economic, social, well-being or environmental areas in serving the community;
- Provide significant, sustainable positive impact and/or fundamental change for betterment of the community;
- Provide exemplar contributions towards building the innovative strengths at HKBU; and
- Possess the greatest potential to further raise HKBU’s good reputation globally.
