Highlights of the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Biology (Environmental Science Concentration)

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Biology (Environmental Science Concentration) has been accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Professionals Limited (HKIQEP) under the HKIQEP Accreditation Scheme for Environmental Degree Programmes – Undergraduate Level, for the following FIVE areas (consisting of two Fundamental Areas and three Specific Areas of the HKIQEP Syllabus):

Fundamental areas: 1. Environmental Science; 2. Environmental Management

Specific areas: 1. Environmental Impact Assessment and Health Impact Assessment (EIA&HA); 2. Water; 3. Waste

With this accreditation, students admitted to the Environmental Science Concentration of the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Biology programme starting from AY2021/22 will be exempted from selected sections of the Professional Assessment (Part I) of the Qualification Process of HKIQEP upon graduation. Therefore, by studying this accredited programme, students are provided with a shorter route to become a professional member of HKIQEP. This qualification is recognized by the Environment Bureau, Development Bureau and at least 45 reputed companies in Hong Kong.
