Overseas Research Scholarship Scheme Enhanced Students’ Research Experiences at Overseas Institutes
To provide exclusive learning opportunities for high-caliber Science students, a brand new undergraduate research programme entitled “Overseas Research Scholarship Scheme” was launched by the Faculty starting from the academic year 2018-19 to further broaden students’ research knowledge and enhance their global exposure through research attachments in overseas universities.
After vigorous selection, seven outstanding students were awarded the Scholarship Scheme. They went on exchange 4-8 weeks last summer in top-notch overseas universities under the guidance of distinguished professors and scholars. “The Scheme aims at nurturing young science talents to grasp a taste of early research experience during their undergraduates with ample of authentic research opportunities and equip them with proper scientific training”, Professor Zhang Jianhua, Dean of Science said.
The Faculty is committed to enhance students’ learning experience and nurture the next generation of researchers/scholars. To align with University’s strategic internationalisation direction, the Faculty hopes this Scheme could also provide unique international learning experience to the student awardees in their research adventures.
